His season may be over:

According to the New York Daily News, the feeling in the Jets organization is that Santonio Holmes' foot injury will end his season.
The Jets are still awaiting final test results, but early indications are anything but positive. The exact nature of the injury has yet to be revealed. After losing their best defensive and offensive playmakers in consecutive weeks, it's fair to wonder if the Jets will be in the hunt for the No. 1 draft pick in April. Chaz Schilens and Jeremy Kerley will be the starting receivers in Week 5 if Stephen Hill (hamstring) remains sidelined. Per beat writer Manish Mehta, the Jets believe that bringing back free agent Plaxico Burress would "hamper" Mark Sanchez. Oct 2 - 1:27 PM

Nothing is concrete yet. It does appear he is going to be out a while though.

Jets placed WR Santonio Holmes (foot) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Holmes' Lisfranc fracture will require surgery. Matt Schaub and Darren McFadden proved players can come back from this injury within six months, but the main reason Holmes will be a Jet in 2013 is the $7.5 million guaranteed in his contract. During his three years in New York, Holmes has managed just 3.8 catches for 52.2 yards per game and has poisoned the locker room. He won't have a positive fantasy outlook next season barring an overhaul at the quarterback position

Update:

Santonio Holmes won't commit to playing Week 1 vs. Buccaneers
By Mike Vorkunov/The Star-Ledger
on June 12, 2013 at 3:33 PM, updated June 12, 2013 at 6:33 PM

Santonio Holmes' rehab from a Lisfranc injury has been gradual. He spoke today but offered little certainty for the upcoming season.

Asked if he would be ready for training camp, Holmes responded: "It's taking one day at a time. I won't know until it happens."

And if he would be ready for the Bucs Week 1, Holmes offered "no comment."

For now, Holmes can say that his rehab has been "great." But he is limited in all that he does and would not say that he can jog, only that he is restricted to working out.

The hardest part for him was simply to learn how to walk again. But he has no concerns about being able to play at his position.

"To have something like this happen it kind of puts a damper in your whole physical ability to do anything," he said.

Santonio Holmes can't say if he'll play for Jets this year
By Mike Vorkunov/The Star-Ledger
on July 26, 2013 at 1:52 PM, updated July 26, 2013 at 5:18 PM

CORTLAND, N.Y. -- As he recovers from a Lisfranc injury that ended his season in week 4 of last season, Santonio Holmes is dealing with uncertainty. He underwent two surgeries since that point and says he is dealing with a major injury for the first time in his career.

So when asked if he thinks he will play this season, Holmes answer was stark:

"I can't answer that question," he said after the Jets' first practice of training camp.

Holmes did not participate. He is on the Physically Unable to Perform list. He mostly did his own work on the side and was also a vocal cheerleader for the receiving corps during some portions of practice.

But he could not provide many answers about when he will play again. He has no timetable for when he could practice.

"Whenever the doctors declare me to go out and perform will be the day I go out and show up for practice."
