According to the New York Daily News, the feeling in the Jets organization is that Santonio Holmes' foot injury will end his season.
The Jets are still awaiting final test results, but early indications are anything but positive. The exact nature of the injury has yet to be revealed. After losing their best defensive and offensive playmakers in consecutive weeks, it's fair to wonder if the Jets will be in the hunt for the No. 1 draft pick in April. Chaz Schilens and Jeremy Kerley will be the starting receivers in Week 5 if Stephen Hill (hamstring) remains sidelined. Jets placed WR Santonio Holmes (foot) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Holmes' Lisfranc fracture will require surgery. Matt Schaub and Darren McFadden proved players can come back from this injury within six months, but the main reason Holmes will be a Jet in 2013 is the $7.5 million guaranteed in his contract. During his three years in New York, Holmes has managed just 3.8 catches for 52.2 yards per game and has poisoned the locker room. He won't have a positive fantasy outlook next season barring an overhaul at the quarterback position
