WR/Flex help, WHIR

Postby GreenBowlPackers » Wed Oct 03, 2012 7:06 pm

Ok, so I have 2 WR spots, a WR/TE spot, and a flex spot to fill.

Rec - 0.5 pts
10 yds = 1 pt, 4 pt bonus at 100, 2 pt bonus at 150/200
rec tds = 6

20 pass yds = 1 pt, 4 pt bonus at 300, 2 pt bonus at 350/400
Pass tds = 4
Ints = -2
Sacks = -1

I have:
Steve Smith
Julio Jones
Larry Fitzgerald
Brian Hartline
Kevin Kolb
Christian Ponder

Remember that the QBs will usually score more in this format than positional players

If you can play a QB at the flex I'd go with Ponder, I assume thats what the last comment meant. I think for your WR's and WR/TE I'd go with Fitz even though his match up is tough I think he's a guy you start regardless. Next I like Julio going against a really bad Washington secondary, plus if you go off the first 4 weeks, its his week to go off. Then I like Hartline over Smith, though I cant for the life of me figure out why Smith and Newton arent clicking. the Seahawks arent nearly as scarey on the road, but the DB's are pretty solid, whereas Cincy's secondary is dinged up.

help with mine?

I agree with above, if a QB can fill your flex spot do Ponder, Tennessee has an awful D. Idk if you have any TE's to fill your WR/TE spot, but since you didn't list any, I would do Jones against a terrible secondary in Wash...Fitzgerald is hard to make a case for to ever sit, but St. Louis has done well in the secondary and may be doubling up Larry, and with Roberts' performance last week Kolb may not see issue in throwing some more targets his way. That said, its still Larry Fitzgerald we are talking about here, and he usually (though not always) finds a way to get things done. I think Steve Smith is the more talented between him and Hartline, but Cam has other weapons and Tannehill will be looking at Hartline a lot more. Their matchups are pretty even, cicny has only given up 10 yards less through the air (534) and the same number of TD's as Seattle. But Carolina is playing at home, and while Cincy has only won one home game themselves, its usually favorable to be playing after you've slept in your own bed. Overall, id have to stream Smith cause you know what youre going to get, but if you are unsure about winning this week anways, Tannehill definitely offers high reward for high risk. Good luck man!
