Commisioner asking league if he should cancel trade....

Postby RexRules » Sun Oct 07, 2012 11:56 am

I accepted a proposed trade from a team in our league. Today the commissioner posted a message saying that the team has co-owners and one did the trade and the other did not agree to it asking the other teams to vote whether it should go through or not. What does everyone think?

Team A players to trade:
Rodgers
Ryan Mathews
Santana Moss

Team B players to trade:
Schuab
Julio
F Jackson

Your Commissioner needs to stay neutral in this situation and allow both teams (comprised of 3 owners) to work out the problem without the entire league as a whole deciding the issue at hand. Sounds like Owner 1 wasn't on board when Owner 2 of same team made a trade proposal to another team owner (you).

Apparently Owner 1 made a complaint to the Commish to have this trade reversed. Regardless, the Commish can only relay a message, not substantiate whether this trade debacle is right or wrong. This is where the 3 Owners need to reach an agreement offline on what went wrong and what needs to be done to correct this issue (reject or accept trade) and then relay that agreement to the remainder of the league to aide in the voting process altogether.

the commish shouldnt have anything to do with it. Basically it is their problem they cant communicate.

Yep. And unless there is collusion, then the trade should happen.

agreed, other team accepted trade so let other two owners figure out how to dual manage a team. Other owner shouldnt have to pay for thier mistake or lack of communication

Thanks guys. I was the one who accepted the trade to get Rodger and Mathews. I think the trade is going to stand, but we will find out in the morning.

My main point to the league was that if we are going to allow co-managers it is their responsibility to determine how transactions will be decided upon, that this is something they should have worked out before the season began. If another team in the league were to agree to a trade and then have seconds thoughts they wouldn;t be allowed to cancel the trade.
