6 Player Trade WHIR!

Postby MetsAllTheWay » Mon Oct 08, 2012 1:05 pm

So I was offered a trade of his Vick, Steve Smith and Donald Brown for my P. Manning (Have Brees), D. Martin and Floyd. I was thinking of instead countering by not exchanging the RBs

Steve Smith
Vick

for my
P. Manning (Have Brees)
Floyd

Should I offer this deal? Or should I take the original deal? WHIR

12 Team Yahoo PPR League, 6 pts passing TD. 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, K, DST, Flex

QB: Brees, P. Manning
RB: Matthews, Martin, Ridley, Leshoure, R. Williams
WR: Welker, Austin, Floyd, Hankerson
TE: Gates, A. Hernandez
K: Gostkowski
DEF: Steelers

i would do it, if you have brees then you can gamble on vick and if vick turns it around you look great, if not you lose nothing. brown seems better than martin to me also

manning is putting up very good numbers and u aren't the one who needs the trade. Vick is struggling so i think u should be able to get a better receiver in return if the owner is really desperate to upgrade at QB.... but if u cant get him to beef up the offer than i would settle for smith

What if I offered

Manning
Floyd
Ridley

for

Vick
Ray Rice
Steve Smith

Don't know if he'd take it though but worth a shot?

I'd give that a shot ... doubt he'd go for it though. Manning is looking good and I expect solid numbers the rest of the year; Vick is a big gamble ... Peyton's stock is high right now so you gotta get the value out of him.

Here's how I see it:

Vick<Manning (but it's close)
Brown<Martin
Smith>Floyd

So, I think you're giving up more and getting less. But you're getting a slight upgrade at WR, assuming Cam Newton is having a good day. Honestly, I don't know why you'd make the deal. Your RB after Mathews aren't in the greatest shape, and giving up Martin would be a bad move IMO. When in doubt, I'd rather have a stronger RB stable and a weaker WR stable, not the other way around. Besides, I think you've got good value in Welker and Austin, and Steve Smith isn't noticeably better than those two. If we were talking about a guy like Roddy White, or AJ Green or Percy Harvin rather than Steve Smith, then absolutely make the trade. But we're not. This gets a "meh" from me.
