Redskins say RG3 'looks good' after concussion
By JOSEPH WHITE (AP Sports Writer) | The Associated Press

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -- Robert Griffin III felt good enough to attend something called a Rookie Success Program meeting Monday morning and seemed, by all accounts, to be doing just fine on the day after suffering his first NFL concussion.

Griffin still has to complete the league's mandated return-to-play protocol before he's cleared for practice, but his Washington Redskins teammates and coach Mike Shanahan were optimistic the Heisman Trophy winner will be able to play in this week's game against the Minnesota Vikings.

''We should fine out in the next few days exactly what happens,'' Shanahan said. ''Right now it looks good. I'm not really sure if it stays that way. The professionals will monitor his situation and let us know if able he's able to play or not. We surely have nothing to do with it.''

RG3 will practice on Wednesday
October 9, 2012, 7:35 pm

Robert Griffin III passed the necessary tests today and the will be able to practice on Wednesday according to Chick Hernandez of Comcast SportsNet.

Citing a team source, Hernandez said that Griffin passed cardio and agility tests today. That, along with some baseline tests and clearance by an independent neurologist, were what he needed to be able to practice on Wednesday.

His participation in practice will be on a non-contact basis, which is normal for quarterbacks.

According to Hernandez, Griffin will be evaluated after each practice. If he stays free of symptoms through practice, he will play on Sunday against the Vikings.

Griffin suffered what Mike Shanahan said was a mild concussion when he was hit while scrambling during the third quarter of the Redskins' loss to the Falcons on Sunday. He went home after the game and later tweeted that he thought he would be able to play against Minnesota.
