This was supposed to be a breakout season for Titus Young.
Instead, the second-year receiver has battled knee soreness most of the past two months and contributed minimally on offense.
He caught the game-tying, 46-yard Hail Mary at the end of regulation in a Week 3 overtime loss to the Titans but has just eight other catches for 71 yards and no touchdowns.
Lions coach Jim Schwartz said Young's knee injury -- he missed practice Wednesday but is expected to play Sunday against the Eagles -- has affected his performance.
"Anytime you miss practice time and you're a young player, it's going to impact," he said. "But we have to persevere through it. He's worked very hard in rehab, and there's some days he's able to do more than others. But it certainly has had an impact simply because when you're a young player, just the sync of the offense and things like that. But he'll be a productive player for us."
A second-round pick out of Boise State last year, Young has yet to make the depth-chart climb many expected.
