McNair on crutches Wednesday / His Prospects for Sunday

McNair was apparently on crutches, with his ankle/calk in a protective boot, yesterday. Could well be that the ankle was injured by him compensating for the torn calf muscle. If they fear this could happen again, or further damage either the calf or ankle, he could sit out this week.

But still, my initial reaction upon seeing he's on crutches Wednesday is that, with him being Steve Frickin' McNair and all, come Sunday he'll be throwing for a couple TDs and running for a couple more.

Anyone have an informed opinion on whether or not he'll play, how effective he might be against Buffalo, and the severity of his injuries? Discuss.

Titans, McNair knew QB was injured at halftime

Titans quarterback Steve McNair still can't put any pressure on his injured left ankle. He's still wearing a protective boot on his left foot and is using crutches. But blocking out the fact he has a cracked bone spur in his left ankle may not be an issue for McNair. He did just that Sunday — in the middle of a game. Yesterday McNair confirmed he was shown an X-ray of his left ankle at halftime of Sunday's loss to the Colts and the X-ray showed a crack in the spur. He received a pain-killing injection and played in the second half.

Listened to a radio interview this morning with Jeff Fisher and not once did he invoke the Volek name. He did say that McNair was on crutches still today, but that the problem was pain-related only. Mobility shouldn't be a concern. At any rate, Fisher was confident that McNair would play this weekend, but would probably be in some pain. I've grown accustomed to discounting 80% of what coaches have to say about their players' injuries, but I do like Fisher and he didn't waiver at all in his confidence about playing McNair.

in my opinion if it is possible he needs to play. hes steve MCNAIR plus who is his back up? is it stil neil o'donnel. they need mcnair to beat buffalo.

McNair told the Tennessean. “I said as long as I can walk I can continue to play.”

Hes gonna play... This game is pretty crucial for the titans to win.

Maybe I will play him. I was talking about "THE" Hasselbeck, not his 'Skin brother. Matt is better that his bro Tim. I just am not sure the Hawks can bring it on the road. I may see the final injury report and then decide. Hopefully there will be some good news tomorrow. This is the division championship for me.
