Big Trade -- Foster and Rodgers, etc. (WHIR...a lot!)

Postby SirGrotius » Wed Oct 17, 2012 4:46 pm

I'm getting creamed in my 8-team, PPR (.5 point) league. It is QB heavy (1 point per 20 passing yard, 6 points per passing TD).

Guy is offering me Aaron Rodgers and Marshawn Lynch for my Arian Foster and Big Ben. Do I do it?

Here is my team now:

QB: Cam (Big Ben)
RBs: Foster, CJ, Doug Martin, (BJGE)
WRs: Julio, Marshall, S.Smith, (Crabtree, Boldin)
TE: Gronk

Here is what it would be:

QB: Rodgers (Cam)
RBs: Lynch, CJ, Martin, (BJGE)
WRs: Julio, Marshall, S.Smith, (Crabtress, Boldin)
TE: Gronk

Leave a link, and I'll help in return!
10 rushing yards - 1 pt
10 receiving yards - 1 pt
20 passing yards - 1 pt
All TDs - 6 pts (QBs favored)

Giving up Foster is a big risk, but you are in need of a QB upgrade. Lynch should be fine. I'd pull the trigger.

Since your league is set up QB heavy, I think you've got to take this trade. I don't expect GB to score like they did this last game, but I don't think they're going to be as bad as they were in the previous either. Somewhere in between is reality and that is a pretty good reality.

Thanks for helping with mine!

Id take this in a heartbeat brother! Lynch is a good RB and Rodgers is a big upgrade over Ben.

Thanks for the help on mine. Personally, I think that Foster will probably outscore Lynch by about the same amount Rodgers outscores Big Ben or Cam, so the trade probably won't turn your season around as you hope. Sorry I'm sitting on a fence, but it comes down to the likelihood you think Foster gets injured to me.

I don't like this deal at all honestly...I know Rodgers is great and all but personally the drop off from Foster to Lynch in my opinion is significant. Big Ben or Cam put up descent enough numbers to stick with them and have the best runningback in the league. If you some better runningbacks besides Martin and The BUM Chris Johnson, I would possibly consider doing this but Lynch is not a stud who makes up for a weak RB2. Foster does and Foster is on a better team that will have more scoring chances. The only concern I had with Foster was if they clinch early and rest foster during fantasy playoffs. I would stand pat though man!! This trade is very tempting but I think I would stick. Hope this helps. Thanks for the help on mine.

I agree with last poster.
Also, if you only had Big Ben, I would probably say you go for this.
But because you have Cam, you can alternate starts for these two. Cam may have strong second half of season. Hold on to Foster.

I'd make that deal in a heartbeat. Rodgers is just hitting his stride and Lynch is no slouch of a RB
QB- M. Ryan, T. Pryor
RB- A. Morris, L. Bell, A. Ellington, C. Ivory, M. James, D. Martin
WR- J. Nelson, A. Brown, J. Boykin, D. Heyward-Bey,
TE- J. Graham, C. Fleener

I don't think I would give up Foster for that. Cam is a very viable QB and I think he will end up having bigger games as the season progresses. Lynch is no slouch, but he's not on the level that Foster is either, as far as fantasy is concerned.

Thanks for your help with mine.

Thanks for the help with mine.

This is a tough one. I say pull the trigger. Rodgers is heating up and Lynch is a pretty solid back.

I think you come out on top.
