Drop Kerley for ?? WHIR

Postby jberends » Wed Oct 17, 2012 7:27 pm

My roster has been rocked a bit as of late, and I have been looking for a better 4th receiver all year.
This week, with Julio and Maclin on BYE, I have Kerley starting.

Any opinions on whether I should drop Kerley for any of the following available WRs?
Hixon
D. Avery
K. Wright
B. Gibson
Manningham
Heyward-Bey
Burleson

Thanks in advance. Post link - WHIR.

I'd go with Manningham for a few reasons. He plays for a winning team, his performance is improving, he's 6 feet tall, and isn't a big play or nothing receiver. That can't be said about the other receivers. But, this isn't clear cut by any means.

I would pick up Avery.....he has a great match up this week and Luck should bounce back against the Browns.

I like Kendall Wright but I'm worried that with Britt back (and actually a factor) he might take a backseat. He's been really consistent though in getting about 5-7 catches a game. Sometimes that is because they are playing catchup and it's garbage time. He did drop the TD in the end zone so I guess his value is hurt for the fact that Britt will get every red zone target.

Manningham is one to consider too because I think he can be consistently good. Sure you'll prob get a stat line like 5 for 60 every week and he won't give you a big game unless he hits paydirt. Plus SF is obviously more of a running team.

I say Wright, Manningham, or even Nate Burleson should be thrown in there. Detroit's lack of a running game and Titus Young's immaturity pretty much makes Burleson option #3 after Megatron and Pettigrew.

I'm going to the odd man out and stick my neck out for Heyward-Bay. I know we've all been disappointed with him based on expectations around his speed, but I like how Oakland used him last week and I'm feeling Palmer will start looking to him more in the deep game.

Thanks for your help with mine.
