Ok, I'm really ok with my team. but here is the trade. who comes out ahead?

owen daniels(te) and steve johnson(wr-bills)

for

brent celek(te) and greg jennings(wr)

who is better off here.

this trade will benefit him more than me in the short term, but what about for the long term? this is a PPR league

I wouldn't do it, you're giving up two decent teams #1 receiving options for an injured guy and a guy who is Vick's 3rd option, just my opinion but run with what you got

Daniels and Johnson still win in the long run. Jennings will be separated from the field at least a month before he even has a chance of suiting up and even then who knows what condition he'll be in. Owen Daniels has been fantastic and really so has Johnson so I don't see any reason why you would want to take this trade, if in two weeks jennings has a decent outing then reconsider, until then I would say this is a no-go.

what about instead of jennings, he offers decker instead. would that sweeten the pot any more? no matter what, this trade will benefit him, and he's more in need than I am, but this way I am getting a better receiver than I'm giving up, even though I'm giving up a decent TE for crap tier right now

Decker definitely makes it a better deal, is there a chance you could get Decker and Jennings for OD and Johnson? That would probably be the best way to go unless you have no options for TE on the waiver wire or on your bench

I've got Witten starting at TE right now. that's a good option, too.

Yeah, with Witten you should be fine getting rid of Daniels. I don't even think you need the WRs, maybe consider trying to strengthen your QB position? But since you have a starter at TE already it makes sense to trade some bench guys for a potential starter like Decker.

ahh now I see. Well seeing the whole picture I don't think either the first trade or the Decker trade would be bad at all. If I were you I would forget about Celek and try to trade maybe both players for Decker if you could but either way I would probably say yes just for the upside.
