This is the very question I was going to post.

Rivers is scaring me. He has an on/off switch - and you can never tell which it will be at any given game. Last game, it goes without saying, was horrendous - but it certainly wasn't all Rivers' fault. But he's had other awful games this year as well. Palmer has been decent most of the year - except for the huge loss against Denver. And his numbers are a little better than what Rivers has put up (240 more passing yards, mainly, along with 5 fewer interceptions). Even when the Raiders lose, Palmers points are well up there. Even when they win, there's no guarantee Rivers puts up the points - the Oakland defense is why they lose more than Rivers is the reason SD wins (or so it seems).

But Palmer is older...yet he's been more consistent so far this year....

At this point, I think I'm leaning towards Palmer and letting Rivers prove himself before putting him back in....
