WHIR - Buy Low on McFadden

Postby sm28185 » Thu Oct 25, 2012 5:39 pm

12 team H2H league, 4 pts per pass TD, 6 pts per rush/rec TD, 0.1 pts per rush/rec yard, 0.04 pts per pass yard

My team as it stands now (currently in 1st at 6-1):

QB - Drew Brees, Christian Ponder
RB - C.J. Spiller, Willis McGahee, Shonn Greene, Felix Jones, Mike Goodson
WR - Larry Fitzgerald, A.J. Green, Denarius Moore, Nate Washington
TE - Antonio Gates

There's a guy in my league who's looking to get offers for Darren McFadden and wants an upgrade at WR in particular. I pretty much just need to win two more games (out of 6) and I should be locked for the playoffs. After looking at the playoff schedules of some of my guys (Spiller in particular), I'm thinking McFadden might be a good buy low option because he's got a great schedule ahead. That and my RB group isn't great. The other guy is in 12th place at 1-6, but just made a big trade to get Ryan and Jones (gave up T Richardson, among others).

His roster as it stands now:

QB - Matt Ryan
RB - Darren McFadden, Ryan Mathews, Ben Tate, Toby Gerhart, Montario Hardesty, Shane Vereen
WR - Jordy Nelson, Julio Jones, Brandon Stokley, Devery Henderson, Titus Young
TE - Aaron Hernandez

Is the trade offer below ridiculous? And/or should I consider something else?

Give - Spiller and Fitzgerald
Get - McFadden and J Nelson

Schedules - Weeks 14-16:
Spiller - Rams, Seahawks, @Dolphins
Fitzgerald - @Seahawks, Lions, Bears
McFadden - Broncos, Chiefs, @Panthers
Nelson - Lions, @Bears, Titans

Your offer is silly. Giving up a RB1 and WR1 (Jordy is #1 and Jennings will be out for weeks with the surgery), for Fitz, who's great, but has Skelton not getting him the ball with Kolb crippled, and a RB who has had a hot start mainly because Jackson got hurt week 1. Now he's right back into a RBBC.

If I were giving up DMC, I'd be willing to take Spiller and Fitz for something like a DMC and Titus Young.

Yea no way I'd take that if I were him but never hurts to start high and negotiate. I like the above suggestion for a better offer
