Matt Ryan trade - 2 QB league keeper auction league

Postby V » Thu Oct 25, 2012 11:03 pm

2 QBs, keeper values in next year's auction (out of $200 budget) in parentheses:

Trade offer: My Martin or Spiller plus Kaepernick for his Matt Ryan. Spiller and Calvin Johnson can only be kept in 2013, everyone else can also be kept in 2014 (for another $5 boost). Current keepers for next year look to be Charles, Martin, Spiller, maybe Calvin ($45 is a lot to spend even on a stud WR; I might try dealing him for a keeper-worthy RB who earns less), and maybe Rudolph. Matt Ryan would be a $38 keeper.

Do I make this deal? Which RB do you trade?

My roster:
QB: Romo ($42)
QB: Schaub ($27)
Bench QB: Henne ($6), Kaepernick ($6)

RB: Charles ($40)
RB: Martin ($30)
RB: Spiller ($11)
Bench RB: Rashad Jennings ($59), David Wilson ($10)

WR: Calvin Johnson ($45)
WR: Dez Bryant (not keepable)
Bench WR: Hartline ($27), Garcon ($8), LaFell ($7), Titus Young ($6)

TE: Rudolph ($6)

Okay, let's assume you're going to keep Charles. Then it boils down to Spiller or Martin. I'd do the deal for Matt Ryan especially if your league is 6pts for tds, but even if its not. Going into next season, I think I like Martin a tad better. Spiller is an awesome talent, but the Bills just paid FJax, so he probably will still be in the picture, limiting Spiller's upside. Plus Martin has a better team around him, first year in the league, more miles on the tires. I'd trade Spiller+ one of the tallest QBs ever for Ryan, and keep Martin and Charles, and actually, given the extensive surplus of productive WR's this season, I would probably deal Megatron after the season. I suspect the WR dynamic to be the same next year.
