WR Start in Week 9 - WHIR!

Postby weig0132 » Wed Oct 31, 2012 10:41 am

I play in a PPR league and my flex spot is already filled. My clear number 1 WR this week is Larry Fitzgerald but who should I start as my number 2 WR? My options are between Steve Smith against Washington or Torrey Smith against Cleveland. Also if anyone thinks that I should sit Larry and Start them both (I dont) then let me know. Please help!

I would rethink the "Fitz is a clear #1" mentality. Compared to Smith & Smith in a PPR, I'd say he is your #1. But in reality he should be a #2 or flex. Steve Smith (CAR) had a ton of targets last week. Steve also has a great match up this week.

Torrey is a fantasy wack-a-mole due to Flacco being a Flacc-o-mole. On paper, Boldin is the PPR possession type receiver and Torrey is the deep threat. With Boldin being so terrible, Torrey has gotten more shallow work.

This is my rankings for this week only:
1. Steve Smith
2. Fitz
3. Torrey Smith
Matt Ryan
Arian Foster | D. Mart | Fred Jackson | Rashad Jennings | Andre Brown
Reggie Wayne | Randall Cobb | Steve Smith

It's definitely Steve Smith vs WAS over Torrey Smith vs CLE.

The first time BAL played CLE, CLE didn't have Haden at CB. They have given up 3 FG's in the last 6 quarters. Plus, they are getting at least 1 of their two starting interior DL guys back this week, Phil Taylor and Atyba Rubin.

Cam to Smith in WAS all day, in a shootout.
