Trade Vetoed?

Postby bdecker12 » Thu Nov 01, 2012 10:12 am

I was trying to get a better WR3, so i made an offer to a guy who badly needed a RB2. He accepted, then it got vetoed. Just wondering if it's really one sided...

Trade Vetoed (By LM)
He trades Joique Bell, Det
He trades Mike Wallace, Pit
I trade Josh Gordon, Cle
I trade Donald Brown, Ind

Bell is his RB2, and i have J charles, McGahee and mendenhall
QB-E.Mannig/Luck
RB-J.Charles/McGahee/Mendenhall/V.Ballard
WR-B.Marshall/M.Colston/K.Britt/Andre Roberts/Crabtree
TE-Gates

I think its definitely one sided. To me Mike Wallace's value is way more than DBrown. Other two aren't important to me. But none of that really matters...unless the two of you colluded, and the LM has evidence of that, the trade shouldn't be vetoed. Its the other guys right to make a shit ass trade if he wants. it seems like the LM is trying to make sure your team doesn't get better than his.

It's not up to other owners to decide what's "fair" - people put different rankings on players and teams have different needs.

If there's no collusion or cheating there should be no veto!

That might be even more one sided with Nelson and Jennings hurt but I don't think either trade was bad enough to warrant a veto. Does the League Manager make the decision alone?

Yeah he does, there was a lot of trading going on in the league(which was nice) and people didn't want to wait 3 days or whatever it was. So now it goes a day then auto accepts, unless it's vetoed by him. I'll talk to him, seemed we were both getting upgrades, so i didnt see an issue with it really.

If someone vetoed that trade I wouldn't ne in that league anymore unless you were trying to cheat. It's not even that lopsided.

Agree with prior posters. Vetoing is about stopping unfair practices like a) collusion; b) a team that has no intention of improving and is just dumping players because it can. If neither of those conditions are teh case (and it doesn't appear that they are from what you describe), the "equality" of a trade is completely irrelevant. People put different values on players and teams all face unique circumstances. Nobody has a right to tell me that the value I put on a player is wrong based on executing veto power. Stupidity is also not a good reason for veto. Just don't invite that guy back into the league next year if you don't want him, but you can't veto a legit deal.
