Looking for QB advice!

Postby bassackwards » Sat Nov 03, 2012 10:20 am

OK...I'm in a 12 team, head to head, .5 PPR league and have Vick as my starting QB. I picked up Dalton and Keller off the wire this week (with the Vick questions and Rudolph not producing with Ponder struggling)...my question is should I roll with this current roster or attempt to trade for an upgrade at QB (I looked at the other rosters and perhaps could get Newton, Luck, or Rivers but would take a miracle to pull off another QB trade as trades do not happen often in our league for some reason). Last option would be to pick up Foles as insurance.

QB Michael Vick (Phi - QB)
WR Larry Fitzgerald (Ari - WR)
WR Dez Bryant (Dal - WR)
WR Julio Jones (Atl - WR)
RB Doug Martin (TB - RB)
RB LeSean McCoy (Phi - RB)
TE Kyle Rudolph (Min - TE)
W/R/T Torrey Smith (Bal - WR)
K Shayne Graham (Hou - K)
DEF Arizona (Ari - DEF)
BN Stevan Ridley (NE - RB)
BN Kenny Britt (Ten - WR)
BN DeMarco Murray (Dal - RB)
BN Jacquizz Rodgers (Atl - RB)
BN Dustin Keller (NYJ - TE)
BN Andy Dalton (Cin - QB)

As long as Vick is starting in Philly you have to go with him for now. The other options at QB you mentioned are not much better for you long-term and you would have to give up more than you can afford to acquire to upgrade your current QB position. You have Dalton (can't believe someone dropped him) so you are decent at the backup position. If you have the room Foles may be a nice option to have but wouldn't drop a worthy bench player for him at this time.

Side question...Cecil Shorts in on the wire and was wondering if he would be a better option than perhaps Britt going forward (I see it as a wash)?

A wash. :-/ Britt has more upside when on the field than Shorts right now. Plus your WR core is in good shape as is. Once you clear your BYE's your depth at WR will go a long way. Pray Britt can stay healthy AND out of trouble for the rest of the season. :-o
