Looking for opinions on Doug Martins Keeper value in a half point PPR LEague.
Players are kept at the round they are drafted in, and can only be kept for one year.
Doug martin was drafted in round 3, so next year he would be a 3rd round pick.
I am 3-6 and more or less out of the playoff race. I have Ray Rice and Wes Welker as my keepers from last year, so I cant keep them again (keep max of 3)
I am thinking about trying to trade for Doug Martin since they guy who has him in right in the playoff hunt. I ooffered Ray Rice strait up for martin, he countered with My Ray Rice, Wes Welker, and Eric Decker for His Doug Marting and Torry Smith. Decker would be my round 4 keeper next year, so I am not sure I like this deal. Any thoughts? He also had Randall Cobb, would subbing in Randall Cobb for Torry smith be good enough to justify losing decker as a keeper? Cobb was undrafted, so would be a round 16 keeper
I also thought about trying for trent Richardson, but the guy with him is already out of it this season as well, so probably not gonna happen.
My Main League 10 Team Standard Score League: QB: Roethlisberger, Freeman RB: R Rice, L McCoy, R Mathews, A Bradshaw, D Sproles, B Brown WR: R White, V Jackson, W Welker, S Smith TE: J Graham, K: S Gostkowski DEF: Seattle (this week)
k well with that clarified then it makes a bit more sense but im still not if favor of the deal myself. How many teams in your league?

Id wait a week or so. Its a bad decision to try and trade for Martin right now, especially in a keeper. Martin as a 3rd round keeper is sick though but id hold off until he has a normal game (not easy matchup this week). If he goes off again this week, just forget about it. Id trade a 4th round Welker much faster than Decker also. Try and keep Decker if you can. Maybe Rice/Welker? Or maybe Rice/Welker/Cobb for Martin and someone. Torrey is pretty good in a Keeper.

Didnt see this. If you are out of it Rice and Welker have zero value to you. Id likely do any 3 players he wants for Martin. 3-6 might not be out of it though. If 6 makes playoffs then 3-6 is def still in it. If its 4 teams make the playoffs then ya id say you are out of it,,,trade any 3 players with Rice/welker.
There are different things you can do...that's a tough trade because if welker isn't allowed to be kept and you are out of the playoff race then there is no reason for you to keep him on your roster. Having Martin as a third round pick next year is amazing. He will def go either later in the first or beg of second next year in a standard draft. I think it would be fair to do Rice and welker for Martin. He's asking too much for him to get Decker. Not sure where you drafted Luck, but having Luck, Martin, and Decker in what I presume in good spots on your draft you'll be pretty solid if you can get Martin. I'd counter back with Rice and Welker for Martin. Under your leagues circumstances that's pretty fair.
so if its 10 team, likely 4 make playoffs. Since you are out of it value anything you cant keep at zero. welker and rice you have to move or you are screwing yourself. They only have value for someone making playoffs. Im sure the other team knows that, hence the offer with Decker. Id do the deal he offered or with maclin or anyone else on your team.
