3 Vetoed Trades: Upser Manager

Hi Everyone

There has been an issue in my league just this week, one manager essentially gave up because he believes he is out of the playoff chase and made the following trades which were denied.

Trade 1:

Carson Palmer
Detroit
Santana Moss
Jacob Tamme
Kenny Britt

for

Trent Richardson
Victor Cruz

Trade 2:

Carson Palmer
Santana Moss
Kenny Britt

for

Trent Richardson

Trade 3:

Miles Austin
Santana Moss
MJD

for

Victor Cruz
Trent Richardson

Now it should be noted that the guy giving up Cruz/Richardson would not start any player in the first 2 trades over another player on his roster, the issue is he is upset the third trade was vetoed and I'm unsure of how to intervene, in his own words, "I don't understand why my last trade was vetoed, I'm trading for potential." While I don't see the potential in an injured MJD and Moss and a clear downgrade at both positions, the trade isn't unreasonable.

I'm curious how any of you would respond to this situation.

First off, is this a redraft, keeper or dynasty league???

Trades shouldn't be vetoed unless there is collusion or cheating or roster dumping. Not up to other owners to decided what is fair, if they're all grownups let them manage their teams as they see fit. The concept of fair is too subjective, different managers rank players differently and people's teams have different needs. If someone is making stupid trades the solution is to not invite him back next year as guys like that always cause a lotta friction in leagues.
