Running Back Issues, WR Dillema

Postby padrepaul77 » Tue Nov 13, 2012 9:19 pm

I'm in a 12-team league, and things aren't looking good this week. Fred Jackson is injured, Beast Mode is on bye, which leaves me two: Stevan Ridley who I often start (RB, Pats) and Daniel Thomas (RB, Fins). Do I start them, or pick up Marcel Reece for a week (RB, Oak)? Looks like he'll start as McFadden is questionable.

Also torn on WR. I picked up Danario Alexander (WR, Bolts) after his great week. I also have Colston for the Saints, Lloyd for the Pats, and Bowe for the Chiefs. At this point I'm thinking Colston and Alexander for next week, as Bowe looked lousy last night and Lloyd had an off week as well, 5 for 45 and no scores. Any thoughts?

Hopes aren't high this week, but still have a good shot at the playoffs. Any thoughts are very much appreciated, or if there's some RB I'm missing let me know. Thanks so much,
Padre Paul from the Twin Cities

Definitely start Ridley, he's looking solid.

Unless you want to hang on to Reece, I wouldn't bother with picking him up for a week. Play Thomas. Chris Ivory (NO) is also an interesting prospect, if you've got room on your roster to see how the Saints decide to use him.

Help me out?

Definitely Ridley-- why haven't you been playing him?? He's a top 10 RB in the league. Reece is definitely an interesting pickup, as they'll be going against the porous Saints defense, and he gets both rushes and receptions. I have him myself, actually, and I'm considering putting him in my flex spot. Daniel Thomas has been doing more than Reggie Bush lately, so he's also a good play, but it's kinda whichever you're feeling at the moment. Personally, I'd go with Reece, but that's because I'm also considering him.

And definitely Colston-- again, he's one of the top WRs. And Drew Brees is incredible. You gotta always start him. I wouldn't go with Danario Alexander this week though, because Denver D is pretty good. Also, I still don't trust Philip Rivers. I have Antonio Gates on my squad, whose been inconsistent because of Rivers' poor play. I mean, yes Bowe played poorly last week, but remember he was up against the Steelers- Cincinnati Bengals will be a much easier matchup.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to go for Reece for a week; I like that match-up against the Saints run D, and Bush will take too many carries for Miami. Any thoughts on wide receivers? Colston is an easy go, but should I go with Danario Alexander over Bowe? I'm thinking Bowe as even though he's on a lousy team he's targeted a lot by Quinn.
