Trade for Rodgers? WHIR

Postby BearsFan65 » Wed Nov 14, 2012 9:50 pm

12 team PPR, all td's = 6. Start 2 RB, 3 WR, no flex. My roster:

QB - Stafford, Romo
RB - McCoy, Sproles, Reece
WR - Harvin, Wayne, Cobb, Bryant, Amendola
TE - Witten

Target's roster:

QB - Rodgers, Freeman
RB - Ridley, FJax, Jennings
WR - A Johnson, M Williams, A Brown, Kerley
TE - Gates, Miller

I don't really need to make a deal (I like my squad), but getting Rodgers would be too good to pass up, especially with Cobb in my lineup. If I offer Stafford and Harvin for Rodgers, am I overpaying? I'd still be deep at WR (if Amendola is my WR3 in a PPR, that's pretty good), and Harvin would be a big upgrade for him at WR. Reasonable offer? Good deal for me? Other ideas? WHIR, thanks!

Tough because like you said you like your squad. Stafford seems to be coming on somewhat, but Rodgers would definitely be an upgrade. Value-wise I think Stafford/Harvin is a bit of an over-payment but it does allow for you to get both Cobb and Amendola into your lineup who I'm assuming you're big on. Harvin has been awesome this year and is a PPR monster if he's healthy. Not to mention with Jordy coming back and Jennings on his way you would think Cobb's production would slip a little bit. Its a difficult decision for me but if I HAD to make one I would say no deal.

Adding to the point about Cobb/Amendola...Amendola's health has been in question all year. You may also want to look at it from the point of view of is it worth getting Rodgers and risking if Amendola goes down forcing you to start Bryant. He's definitely not a bad option at #3 but with him and the possibility of Nelson and Jennings dipping into Cobb's targets may take away the points you gain in the Stafford/Rodgers swap. Just a thought

If you can get the other owner to take that, I would do that trade in a heartbeat. You are very deep at WR (assuming you start 3 WR), especially for a PPR. Harvin's health always worries me and he is dealing with more ailments heading into the bye. Now would be the perfect time to sell, IMO. Doubt the Rodgers owner does it because of how bad Stafford has been this year, but get it done if he says yes.

EDIT: Although it is worth noting that you have a huge hole at RB behind McCoy. Instead of an upgrade at QB, possibly look to move Harvin for a RB2? Maybe a Ridley type? Assuming you start at least 2 RB.

help with mine?

I definitely agree with his points about Harvin. His health and Amendola could potentially be very troublesome. If you can find someone who is big on Harvin and grab an upgrade at RB, which I think is a more pressing need for you than QB, I would do that over a Rodgers deal.
