I'm in first place in a PPR league and at this point I'm thinking ahead towards the playoffs.
In our PPR league we start 2 RBs, 2 WRS, 1 TE and 1 Flex (RB,WR,TE)
My current team is:
QB Stafford RB1 Jamaal Charles RB2 Vick ballard,Mark Ingram,Danny Woodhead (yes it's pretty ugly eh?) WR1 A.J. Green WR2 Roddy White Flex Welker TE T Gonzalez DST Broncos
I've basically been murdering people with my WR's but my current RB2 situation is just gross....
I'd be trading away Welker , Aaron Hernandez and 49ers DST. I'd be getting C.J. Spiller and Greg Jennings.
I have Cecil shorts on my bench who has been going off the last few weeks so I figured I would slide him into my flex spot for now. The broncos have a cupcake schedule the rest of the year and the niners have some tough opponents so I don't think I'd start them much. I'm also thinking once Jennings returns I can slide him into my flex spot.
RBs are REALLY hard to find, whereas good WRs like Welker sometimes even just pop up on the WW. Not only is Spiller the best player in the deal, but he's also playing at the much tougher position to find talent at. I would go for it for sure.
I'm not sure in PPR, but in my league Spiller is a top 10 back and you desperately need help there. It's much easier to find someone to start in your flex than find a starting RB.
And you never know. You could get lucky and have Jennings come back for the playoffs as an added bonus.
I'm not sure I agree that Spiller is the best player in the deal. Welker is money in PPR. HOWEVER, make the trade. Spiller is playing well and you badly need a RB. Your flex situation will sort itself out with Shorts and Jennings. I think the 49ers D doesn't look as good as it used to, so I'm okay trading them away. Thanks for your thoughts on mine!
I would do the dal too for the reasons everyone else said. Just one little nugget though if you are looking towards the playoffs is that Spiller doesnt have the most friendly playoff schedule. He is sort of matchup proof but at the same time there are some backs with better schedules maybe you can get. You think you could get the DeMarco owner to give you him?? I would try and shop around and see if i could get a better deal without giving up Welker if i could, and if not fall back on this deal.
Try and trade away Hernandez and Cecil shorts for a solid RB and keep Welker. If you could pull off Cecil and hernandez for Murray i think thats a better deal for you in the long run
I think this deal is okay for you, but I have to agree with the previous poster about trying to snag Murray. Also, if you have room on your bench, you can snag Kendall Hunter if he's free. If anything were to happen to Gore, you'd have an instant fantasy goldmine.
