Blockbuster Deadline Trade -- Need Opinions

Postby psgetrplyr » Fri Nov 16, 2012 10:18 am

12-team, standard scoring league. I'm a Big Ben owner, so his injury hurt me. I'm 6-4 and fighting to make the playoffs.

I give up:
Josh Freeman
Brandon Marshall
DeMarco Murray
Ryan Mathews

I receive:
Peyton Manning
Marshawn Lynch
Miles Austin

For perspective, my current roster:
QB: Freeman and Roethlisberger
RB: Mathews, Alfred Morris, Willis McGahee, Murray, Jonathan Dwyer, Vick Ballard
WR: Calvin Johnson, Marshall, Jeremy Maclin, Brandon Lloyd
TE: Aaron Hernandez, Dustin Keller
K: Shayne Graham
D/ST: been chasing matchups, currently have the Rams

I do that if I were you. Gives you a top end QB, unpgrade in RB for a downgrade in WR that I'm sure the rest of the trade absorbs and then some. If you're fighting to get in its about going for the win IMO this would do that.

Nice deal for you but doubt the other owner goes for it. You are asking for a top QB and RB for your 2 RB's that are either injured and/or non-productive to date. Giving up Marshall will help but will be tough to get the other owner to accept this proposal as is.

Indeed, whats the other owners lineup? that might make a big difference here.

The other owner is the one who proposed the trade. I've made the decision to accept. Hoping this pays off for me.

To be fair, I've been going back-and-forth with the guy for awhile now, trying to get Manning. He's also 3-7 and obviously needs to win immediately, so having Lynch on a bye didn't help him this week.

Well then it works great for you. If you're just positioning yourself for playoffs then this is really nice. Even if not, its nice.
