I started a back and forth with a guy in my league who has an odd sense of value. My opening salvo was my Bradshaw, sproles, Vjax and welker for his Gore, demaryius Thomas and Eric decker.
I just feel odd after proposing that. I love that it would leave me with rice, McCoy and gore as my starting RBs with roddy and one of Thomas or decker as my starting WRs but it still feels funny.

I like it, but having Decker and Thomas is kind of putting all your eggs in one basket. If Denver has an off game or god forbid, manning goes down, your team is sunk. If I had to choose between the two, I'd probably go for Demaryius and try taking out VJax.
Agreed. Demaryius and Decker is putting a lot of eggs in one basket. Manning is still a re-injury risk and you'll rise and fall at WR with Denver's passing game. Sproles is less valuable in PPR, and on it's face it's a good deal for you, I'd just be wary about getting back two Broncos in the same deal. Does he have another WR you could target maybe?

I drafted Decker and have had him all year. I acquired D Thomas week 5 through a trade. I have had both ever since, and start both every week. Here are their stats for each of those weeks (standard scoring):
Week 5 Thomas 16.0 Decker 8.1 Combined 24.1
Week 6 Thomas 9.7 Decker 15.8 Combined 25.5
Week 8 Thomas 19.7 Decker 16.3 Combined 36.0
Week 9 Thomas 7.7 Decker 21.9 Combined 29.6
Week 10 Thomas 13.5 Decker 1.5 Combined 15.0
As you can see, Peyton spreads the wealth around. With the exception of last week's fluke for Decker (Stokley saw pay dirt instead), it's like having two WR's that average 14.4 points per week each. Not shabby at all! They are ranked #7 (Thomas) and #11 (Decker) overall.
So, having both is a good proposition. And, if you can make it happen before tomorrow, you'll notice Week 8's Combined 36.0 points came against SD, who they are playing tomorrow.
Manning is having an MVP-type campaign this season. Neither are hurting for points, but by having both you (almost) ensure you will get production. I wouldn't worry too much about Manning going down. Having both receivers seems to be a better risk than having only one and assuming Manning will get hurt in the remaining 6-7 weeks of the season (depending on your playoff structure). That's my opinion.

I think that it was a good trade for you. Yes, if Manning goes down it puts you in a bad spot, but any given week both Decker and Thomas put up points, as the last post indicates. Feel confident about this one.
