I'm in a 12 team league, with 2 games left in the regular season, starting Sunday. I started off 4-0, but due to nagging injuries I've dropped to 4-7. (Non PPR)
(IR: MJD, Cedric Benson)
The Roster:
QB: Drew Brees RB: Reggie Bush, Beanie Wells, Ronnie Hillman, James Starks, Jonathan Dwyer, Andre Brown WR: Roddy White, Dwayne Bowe, Kenny Britt, Cecil Shorts TE: Tony Gonzalez K: David Akers Flex: D: Pittsburg Steelers (Chargers, Jets, Panthers, Vikings, Lions, Falcons available in FA.)
Bold = Guaranteed Starters. I need to figure out who I will start at RB (2) and WR (1) and also one flex. Also, will need help in picking up a D. If I win the next 2 games I make the playoffs, if I lose I'm out. Winner gets 750. WHIR Thanks!
Dwayne Bowe is facing an easy Cincy defense, so he might be worth going with. For RB, Beanie Wells definitely, as he'll be back. Reggie Bush may be your other best bet, despite the fact that theyre going against a tough Seattle defense. For flex, I'd say Ronnie Hillman- he's gonna be much better, now that Willis McGahee is out for a few weeks.
And as far as defense, probably Atlanta, against Tampa.
id def go with hillman and bowe after that its tough i dont like beanie even when healthy and i hate to start guys just coming off an injury but you may have to id start bush despite his matchup
ok well first off bowe played a "weak" cincinnati defense last week and put up a goose egg. this week he is playing the denver broncos who are an even better defnese. i have learned to not trust anything on the kansas city roster so i would go with shorts at WR. he was henne's favorite target and hopefully the jags are smart and keep gabbard on the bench where he belongs and roll with henne. facing a bad tennessee defense so thats a plus as well. as far as RB, you would think bush would be the starter hands down but he put up 3.5 last week and has been like that all season so i would stay updated on willis mcgahee's status throughout the week and if he sits, start hillman hands down. has a great match up against the chiefs. as far as defense, stick with pittsburgh. will get points of turnovers and sacks guaranteed
I think you have to start the Steelers D. The Browns' OL looked very good in Dallas, but the Dallas DL was atrocious, and Weeden still tried hard to give up plenty of picks. If you had a weaker D then I would def say the Panthers, as it looks like Foles may still be back in there and he's an accident waiting to happen. Stick with the Steelers. It's not as if the Browns offense are going to put up any points (says the Browns fan).
Personal preference here, but I'd start Shorts over Britt. I had Britt for ages, and he never delivered. Every week I thought he would catch fire, but nothing. Traded him away, picked up Shorts on waivers and he's been the opposite - I keep thinking he will bomb, then he comes up with the points. I agree with Britt over Bowe, but would have Shorts over both.
RB: Hillman for sure since you know he'll be getting the majority of touches, and Wells WR: White, and Bowe Flex: I would go with Shorts, he's the main guy really in Jax Defense: I would go with Carolina
QB: Drew Brees RB1: Ronnie Hillman - likely getting the start against a terrible KC run def; the score will get run up and he will get clock killing time RB2: Reggie Bush - it's not a great matchup (SEA is #12 vs the run, + Dan Thomas), but I think it's the best of what you have left at RB WR1: Roddy White - obviously WR2: Cecil Shorts - Especially is Henne starts; TEN is one of the absolute worst passing defenses in the league TE: Tony Gonzalez K: David Akers Flex: James Starks - it seems like they're going back to running more in GB; against NYG he should see touches as the #1 RB on the Pack D: Carolina Panthers - they're playing the putrid Titans this week
Wow man, well let us know how it goes. We're all rooting for ya! Best of luck
