I have traded RG3. Did I make the right move?

Postby SmokyMcNasty » Tue Nov 20, 2012 12:54 am

I have Drew Brees as well and I just don't see any situation where am I ever going to bench Brees. I felt like I was wasting RG3 on my bench. So I traded him for some team depth... so did I win this trade? 12 teams standard scoring:

I trade RG3 and I receive Julio Jones and Tony Romo.

My team is down below on my signature. We start 2 RB 2 WR and 1 flex in this league.

looks like a fine trade. i think rg3's value is way more than julio and a backup. however, i think alot of people had trouble trading RG3, people just can't afford to part with what he's worth (which is a fortune). obviously with julio's hurt leg it damages the value for you, but that doesn't mean it wasn't the right trade at the time. julio's a beast, hopefully he heals up easily.

I dont want to give you traders remorse but i woukdnt have made that move. You got rid of an elite qb and received an injured receiver. You didnt need a qb so i dont see why you got one_hopefully jones comes back soon.

You could have gotten more for RGIII but you filled a need in depth at the WR position (though Jones is hurt and out of action for at least another week or two) and at the QB position (Romo is having a rough year - pray Brees doesn't get hurt :-o ). Neither of these players will see your starting lineup anytime soon so as long as you are satisfied with the results the trade is good for you.

Man, I would have tried to upgrade on of your positions instead of trading for depth.

Help?

i missed reading your WR's.... dislike the trade more now. should have tried to package him and get an elite stud starter. julio is that stud, but not while he's injured :-(

Hate to pile on, but I'm with the previous folks. Especially after the monster game he just had, you could have gotten more for RG3.

I mean, it didn't hurt you, that's for sure. So no major loss. Better to have Julio than to just sit RG3 through the end of the season. But I think you should have been able to get more for him.
