Brandon Marshall vs Seahawks Roddy White vs Saints Randall Cobb vs Vikings Justin Blackmon vs Bills
Can only start 3. Standard scoring.
QB - Drew Brees, Tony Romo RB - Adrian Peterson, Trent Richardson, Alfred Morris, Jacquizz Rodgers WR - Brandon Marshall, Julio Jones, Vincent Jackson, Anquan Boldin, Golden Tate TE - Heath Miller DEF - Rotating K - Justin Tucker
Bench Cobb- defenses are starting to figure him out, and Jennings is back next week. And yes, he's so good, but....
You CAN'T bench Roddy White against the Saints, You CAN'T bench Brandon Marshall, and you REALLY CAN'T bench Justin Blackmon, who is CLEARLY Henne's favorite target. SInce Gabbert is out, Henne has really picked it up, and Blackmon is the go-to guy. Especially against the clownschool Buffalo defense.
Now, I'm saying this as someone who has both Blackmon and Cobb.
I'd sit...Brandon Marshall or White?! I know I know, they're studs, but Saints have been better on defense and I'm sure would love to upset the Falcons after the loss to the 9ers. They didn't loss to Kaep, they lost to pick 6s and Gore. Packers just got embarrassed, and head to a dome against a rival that's trying to steal their playoff spot. I see Cobb and Nelson with big days. Cobb's numbers in domes seem to be pretty good too. Blackmon seems to be the hot hand right now and reminds me of Harvin late last year. MArshall is up against a defense that can be good. With Forte out, he'll probably get extra coverage as the Hawks can stop the run. They're all great receivers. I think Blackmon is a must start vs the Bills, the others you could probably pick at random.
Blackmon..Henne also targets Shorts as much as Blackmon. You definitely cant sit White, or Cobb vs the Vikings, and Marshall is pretty much Cutlers main man.
Seahawks suspension aren't going to be in effect this week. They have an appeal postponed to next week. However, you can't bench Brandon Marshall since he was targeted 17 times and 12 receptions in one game, too much opportunity to pass up.
You can't bench roddy white he has great route running and saints secondary can't handle that. His routes are so much better than SF wr's.
I still would stick with Cobb over blackmon. Its a bounce back game for the team. Jennings back only helps. Nelson, Jennings, Cobb, Jones, Finley. Jennings probably more of a decoy in his first game back.
Either way blackmon and cobb are in the same tier this week. I usually prefer the better matchup and qb to decide and that is Cobb. However, if you prefer a bad team's WR1 then that isn't a bad strat either. It will be cold probably snowing in buffalo too.
Is Forte going to be playing this week? If not Marshall will be Cutler's only target as I believe Hester is out as well. That could work for or against you. 17 targets last week, but 0 TDs. He's going to get more attention from some very good Seattle DBs, and Bush will punch in the TDs. He'll rack up yardage if he can haul some passes down.
Turbo you make a good point with the weather. Henne is used to playing in the warm weather(he played for Miami too right?), and snow would definitely affect any teams passing. Chicago is cold too though, and the Seahawks have the 3rd best pass D in the league. However, Cutler is used to colder temps and has diabetes. He's really battle tested lol.
My predictions with weather and match ups taken into effect:
Marshall 9 receptions for 111 yards 0 TDs Cobb 6 receptions 64 yards 1 TD White 1 receptions 22 yards 0 TDs Blackmon 1 reception 87 yards 1 TD in the snow(If this really happens I'm hitting AC and putting a grand on Black)
I guess it makes sense to play the guys who have been playing well all year and not just the last 2 weeks. Bench Blackmon. The other 3 receivers have more established QBs too. He might put up decent numbers, maybe 70 yards tops, but if it's going to be a sloppy game he'll probably have a hard time finding the end zone. If the weather is clear though, I still really like that matchup against the Bills secondary.
