I was offered Aaron Hernandez for Knowshon Moreno straight up.
My WR: Demaryius Thomas, Percy Harvin, Eric Decker, Pierre Garcon, Lance Moore, Antonio Brown My RB: Doug Martin, Steven Ridley, Shane Vereen (handcuff), Knowshon Moreno, Ronnie Hillman (handcuff) My TE: Jimmy Graham
I already have alot invested in the Broncos offense with both Denver WR and RB
Knowshon or Hernandez would be flex options. I normally always side with the RB because touches are essentially guaranteed but I'm not so sure I'm sold on Moreno after 1 decent game. This could be a perfect sell high. With Gronk out I feel Hernandez HAS to be a focal point on offense (like he was before his injury).
I am also playing the guy I would be trading this week. I doubt the difference between Moreno and Hernandez would be the difference between a win and a loss for me. I currently sit 1st place and clinched a playoff berth so I am thinking playoffs.
QB: Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick RB: Jamaal Charles, Darren Sproles, Knowshon Moreno, Montee Ball WR: Jordy Nelson, Larry Fitzgerald, Vincent Jackson, Cecil Shorts, Justin Blackmon TE: Martellus Bennett K: Mason Crosby D/ST: Cleveland
The only thing: God forbid Doug Martin goes down with an injury. Then you're screwed. I tend to stay on the side of keeping RB's. I know it's a bit old-school, but it's how my gut works. It could be the perfect sell-high, but it could also be disastrous. I also agree that owning too many on one team can be a bad thing. Take, for example, owners who had Rodgers, James, and Cobb from GB this past Sunday. Not good. If it can happen to Rodgers it can happen to Brady, imho. As far as Hernandez goes, his flex value is higher than Moreno's when he's 100%. I don't know that he is. In his first week back (since, what, week 7 or 8?) he was targeted four times. Is it because the ankle still bothers him? Is it because Brady got used to running the offense without him? Was it just a fluke? Is it because the line needed him to block more often? Whatever the reason, this week's performance flies in the face of the conventional wisdom that says "Hernandez will get more targets with Gronk out."
If you're still wanting to gamble, I'd say - everything being 100% perfect for you - Hernandez has some more value at flex in a PPR league than Moreno. But it's not enough to jump at this deal. I wouldn't do it.
