Flex slot this week?

Postby Solak » Fri Nov 30, 2012 12:36 am

Trying to figure out my flex player this week here is what I have:

QB Stafford (Luck on Bench)
WR1 Brandon Marshall v. Sea
WR2 Victor Cruz v. Was
RB1 Ray Rice v. Pit
RB2 (Bryce Brown/LeSean McCoy handcuff) v. Dal
TE/WR Jimmy Graham (already Played) 7.93 points
W/R/TE ?????

On the bench and available for the flex job I have: (in order of current preference)

Pierre Garcon v.NYG
(Mikel Leshoure/Joique Bell handcuff) v. Ind
Stevie Johnson v. Jac

Pierre has played two grate games and not played the rest of the season. The NYG matchup is good and he went off last week.
Mikel has some knee problems but not bad enough to put in his handcuff.
Stevie has a good matchup too but I have found him to be unreliable this season.

If you have ideas about moving some of the other starters around, I'm open to that too.

I've already locked in the playoffs,(11-1) but I would like to keep the number one seed. I know Pierre is a risk, but I think he has the highest reward ratio or all of the guys on the bench. Given I don't HAVE to win, I think it is worth the risk. Thoughts?

You pretty much answered your own question. Since, you don't have to win, you seem to be using the upside approach which in that case would be Garcon. The safer play is Leshoure. It depends on what you want to do. Oh, and congratulations on going 11-1. That's not easy.

stevie has been reliable for the entire season IMO: he scores at least 7.5 points vs OK matchups, the only games he really sucked was against NE, HOU and SF (he scored 11 points in week 1 vs jets)! But of course, all stevie-owners would like that reliability to reach 10-13 points :)
I think it's a coin toss between garcon and johnson..(as a johnson owner, i'm hoping he will score a TD at last)
as the guy above me said: you quite answered your own question :)

Thanks for the replies and confirmations. I think I just needed a reality check. I may be in first, but the guy behind me in second by two games at 9-3 has 140 something points on me. (1681 to my 1548) and I have to play him the last week of the regular season. (15)

I think our league boils down to drafting. About half of us do some research and the other half pick guys they have heard of before, or else just take wild leaps. So only about half the teams have good players but they are very competitive among each other. I really should have lost last week being behind by 12 and only having Bryce Brown left to go on monday night against Jonathan Steward, but we all know how that ended up. There have been other games like that too.

Thanks for the help guys.

I would go with Mikel LeShoure if he is looks OK in practice today. He's been consistent and could always score a couple TDs since the Lions always seem to be really close to the goaline.
