WR for playoffs.. WHIR

Postby rasmusDoh » Tue Dec 04, 2012 6:15 pm

8-man PPR league

I'm playoff bound with a league leading 11-2 record.

I'm pretty stacked at RB and with Murray back i kinda have a luxury problem with Foster, Martin, Charles and Murray (except i would probably just sit Murray as before he got back)

While my WRs were doing well earlier in the season, most of them suck now.

I wanna win this freaking league, so i feel like i should try to improve my WRs a bit now.
It's tough though since we're over the trade deadline.
But i was thinking of dropping SJax for G. Tate, M. Williams, M. Floyd or T.Y. Hilton

At the moment it looks like i'll be putting my playoff WR trust in Nicks and ??. Where ?? is Harvin if he gets back (pleeeeease!!!)
If he doesn't i just dunno if i can trust Bowe, Fitz and Nelson anymore.
This is where i feel like a guy like G. Tate vs BUF in week 15 or Williams vs NO in 15, STL in 16 or Hilton vs KC in 16 could actually be a smarter choice than one of these high profile names.
Or just Floyd who has actually been pretty consistent.

What do you think??

Thanks, WHIR!

it really depends on who all is available to get, Cecil Shorts has been a great pick up for others in some of my leagues.

Shorts is taken. The 4 players i listed are the ones i consider the best in our FA. Boldin's there too, but i dont trust him.

How do you feel about Floyd? He's had more than 10 pts for like 5 weeks straight - do you think he'll be able to keep that up? How good are his playoff matchups CAR and NYJ against WRs?

How can you waive Sjax, I would love to own him. I would drop Bowe and pickup Tate(He's been a top 20 WR the last 5 weeks). I would still roll with Sjax unless he has a poor match up.

Let's just say I disagree with the "how can you drop SJax" reply. He does you no good if he's sitting on your bench, and you're never going to start him over the four backs in front of him. Absolutely drop him for a something you need! I love Mike Williams, coming on strong in a hot offense, and that matchup with NO is a really nice one in week 15. Good luck!

Thanks, i dropped SJax for Mike Williams.

Would you do something as "drastic" as dropping Bowe for G. Tate?
If i'm not gonna use G. Tate i think it would be stupid, as one of the other playoff teams could pick him up. And Quinn did quite well this week, so he might have a good game again!?

If it's a redraft league, then you need to worry only about winning now. It's highly unlikely Bowe is going to help you win.

It is a redraft.

Bowe might not help me win, but will G. Tate?
And Bowe might not help me win, but could he help one of the other teams win?

Tate could just as easily help someone else win, while Bowe is on your bench. Follow your gut. If you don't feel comfortable dropping Bowe, then don't. I think you already picked up the best of the bunch there in M. Will.
