Matt Ryan and Julio Jones for A. Rodgers

Postby manoosie » Wed Dec 05, 2012 11:53 am

I am thinking about keepers for next year. I get two, and I already have Arian Foster. Should I trade Ryan and Jones to get Rodgers?

what kind of keeper league are you in when you can keep your first rounders? if you're not in the playoffs, I would do it.

I think I'd rather have Jones, honestly. This year has shown how deep the QB pool is. Each year, Roddy, Gonzo, and Turner are getting older, and Julio will be the offensive centerpiece.

I would go for Rodgers. He's great and he just keeps getting better. I know Julio is good, but when you're thinking of the overall trade, I think it makes sense. A good QB is worth a lot.

Can keep up to two players and use up your first two picks.

Another reason I am tempted to offer the trade is I am afraid Ryan/Jones may get shut down the last few games. My league has no playoffs, the winner has the most wins at the end of the season.

In that case, I guess you do what you have to to try and win. Rodgers is good and will be good next year. I just really like Jones. I think he will do even better next year.

This could work. WR is as a deep if not deeper position than QB.

Exactly. I wouldnt even keep Julio unless I thought he was a top 12 Option...and are we so certain of that?

I see Megatron, Marshall, AJG, DBryant (hard argue against lately), and even Harvin as clearly better.

That leaves Julio in the talented yet large group of wrs which follow. Julio, D-Thomas, Cruz, Nicks, Nelson, Roddy, Fitz...

All the while Rodgers is clearly, imo, the number 1 dynasty or otherwise QB. Ryan is not a keeper in your format and Rodgers is a clear upgrade over Julio. Go for it.
