Week 15 Defense Question

Postby Magicflurry » Fri Dec 07, 2012 5:29 pm

I'm currently in a 4 team 2 round per matchup playoff. ESPN standard league
Next week (15) I play my opponent again who has 49ers def vs NE so I'm thinking to Roster other defenses so they can't pick up.

Now I could drop Darren Sproles, Eric Decker, Dallas Clark now and pickup 3 best available Defenses and another one on Waivers by dropping the Cards Def. (I've got Waiver Order on opponent and Texans Def on bench)

So I could pick up 4 of these just so my opponent can't have them...
(And to use week 16-17 if I like)

The Defenses available are
Rams WA (Sat) Min
Dolphins FA Jac
Panthers FA @SD
Buccaneers FA @NO
Redskins FA Cle
Bills FA Sea
Titans FA NYJ
Lions FA @Ari
Colts FA @Hou
Chiefs FA @Oak
Eagles FA Cin
Saints FA TB
Jaguars FA @Mia
Raiders WA (Wed) KC

Right now I'm thinking Redskins, Lions, Raiders, Saints but I feel there will still be a viable option in Jags, Titans

Maybe I am just overthinking this and should keep the depth or maybe pick up Lions Raiders only?

Thanks for any input

Welcome to the Cafe ;-D
I would stick with who you have. There is not a defense that sticks out to me that will be a must grab option. Also, Decker and Sproles can put up top 20 numbers, while Clark looks like he can be used as a high end TE2.
Thanks Franchise Fan for the sig!

None of those options listed are worth dropping your players for in my opinion. Much to my dismay, the Raider D is, from a fantasy standpoint, the lowest scoring team defense in the league. The saints, lions, titans, and jags are all in the bottom 10 as well, Washington not far away in the 12 spot. I think New England is a better option than any of these that you have listed, snatching them up will only help your opponents by giving them the opportunity to take your skill players. It's lose or go home from here on out, and loading up with multiple defenses, at least with what is available, could be a fatal mistake. I don't think you or your opponent will need to pick up another defense this week or next, if he does thats his loss. Don't go down with him :-t
