That Tricky FLEX spot - worth benching Forte?

Postby Uguy536 » Sun Dec 09, 2012 10:51 am

Okay I might be a bit crazy to say this but I was considering who to play at flex and I am thinking about benching Forte in the process. Here is the plan...

Starting:

RB A. Bradshaw vs NO
RB V. Ballard vs Ten ** now alone as the starter and getting all the touches against a bad run defense
WR W. Welker vs Hou
WR M. Colston @ NYG

FLEX T.Y. Hilton vs. Ten ** developed a lot of chemistry with Luck and could return a kick to boot

Benching:

M. Forte @ Min ** still loosing those goaline carries to that stupid Michael Bush ArgH!
D. Sproles @ NYG

IF I DO GO WITH FORTE - who do you bench (Ballard or Hilton????)

Scoring rules: Big play TD bonus (>40 yards) 0.5 ppr otherwise standard ESPN rules

That isn't crazy at all, especially considering the slight production against the Vikes just 2 weeks ago. And considering the fact that Bush is there as a goal line vulture, I say go with your gut there.

Forte is losing goal line carries, and the matchup isn't great. Go with the hot hand, start Hilton.

I'd play Forte, but I don't think Hilton is an awful choice and wouldn't blame you for starting him. I'd be 100% Forte if your league didn't have the big play bonus; this feature makes Hilton quite intriguing.

Ugh I know this is the challenge - I am leaning toward starting Forte - he was my #1 pick after all. But then do I go with steady but not high upside with Ballard at flex or should I roll the dice and go with Hilton....

I'm starting HIlton and Forte today. I'm playing Montell Owens as my flex.

Go with Forte over Ballard, keep Hilton in as a flex. Ballard may get the touches but I like Forte's odds at putting up better numbers this week especially in PPR, I think Forte will get you more yards, more receptions, and a better chance of a TD.
