So I made it though first week of playoffs. I am happy with my team with exception of rotating a defense around. So basically I was planning to pick up a good defensive match up this week, thinking maybe:
DET vs ARZ MIA vs JAX MINN vs STL TENN vs JETS OAK vs KC
My opponent slipped into the playoffs this year and knocked out #1 seed in first round. He told me he would be grabbing Wilson of the WW this week b/c he thought he had first waiver priority. He was mistaken and I actually have first priority. So my question is should I better my team and go ahead and grab a DEF or should i scoop up Wilson to block my opponent? His RBs are Ryan Matthews and Montel Owens.
My Main League 10 Team Standard Score League: QB: Roethlisberger, Freeman RB: R Rice, L McCoy, R Mathews, A Bradshaw, D Sproles, B Brown WR: R White, V Jackson, W Welker, S Smith TE: J Graham, K: S Gostkowski DEF: Seattle (this week)
Russell Wilson i assume? I would let him have him, that team runs a lot, and is playing on the road. Also, maybe he really wanted a defense and he knew you were ahead of him and he told you Wilson so you'd use your claim on Wilson and then he could grab a defense. I like the WW blocking move, but for someone like Wilson, I'd rather streghthen my own team.
Pick up Wilson now!!!! Don't let opponent have him and he may help you too! Also, don't waste waiver claims, especially high claims, on defenses....pick up miami
If Russell, then definitely pickup a DEF, Detroit is the best bet
If David Wilson, I might think harder about it....the kid looked legitimate. In the end I look to points over replacement. Is Detroit the best starter for you? Yes. If thats the case, then I think about blocking David Wilson only if I think he will give my opponent a significant boost in points over Montell Owens. I don't think that is the case. I would still grab Detroit and put the best product that YOU can in your lineup. But to be honest, It is close to a tossup.
