QB WR3 Flex help! WHIR

Postby JRowMe » Wed Dec 12, 2012 12:34 pm

So I'm the #1 seed up against the hottest team in the league who quite frankly has a better team.
LeSean is out and we have a 12 team 1Q2R3W1F setup non-ppr

Q1. Matty Ice or should I spot start Carson Palmer (he's the best available given his matchup)

Q2. As long as Dez is healthy, I'm going with him and Andre... 3rd spot is usually Torrey but Cam getting fired and Champ Bailey being on him all day scares me. Shorts is out. I have Blackmon and Givens. So... Torrey, Blackmon, Givens?

Q3. Flex I have Montell owens in there for now.
Flex possibilities include Owens, the other 2 remaining WRs, and Jermaine Gresham.

yikes.

I'd go Givens first (good matchup) then Smith. If Shorts is out all of the attention will be on Blackmon and he's not on the level yet where he can still make it work. Who's available on waivers?

no notable on waivers.
I would have listed, it's a 12 team league with a giant starting lineup so anyone worthy of a flyer here is gone.

what about the other two questions?

Honestly I know Givens and Torrey sound like better options, but I would go with Blackmon. Givens has had quite a few drops the past couple weeks, and lets be honest, his team has had some pretty bad rough patches.

Torrey would make me nervous for the same reason you mentioned, plus they are facing a Denver defense that's better than most give credit for. With Von Miller rushing against a O-line that isn't quite what it used to be, Flaco could be scrambling around a lot. Champ loves that scenario!

Blackmon isn't there yet(may never be) but he's the lesser of three evils in my opinion. Might be the only option and get a lot of attention, but he's the only option! May end up with a dozen or more targets.

I'd keep Owens at Flex primarily for the same reason I just mentioned regarding Blackmon. If the passing game can't keep pace then Owens will see extra carries.

yeah i'm leaning towards sticking with...

RB1 Jamaal Charles
RB2 Ridley
WR1 Andre
WR2 Dez (if healthy... please be healthy)
WR3 Blackmon
TE AHern
Flex MOwens
D Denver
K Seabass.

Bench
Shady out
Torrey
Gresham
Shorts out
Givens...

But I'm still torn about Matty Ice... he's been average... and Carson is MEH but KC's matchup is so intriguing.
I know they don't give up much yardage but they do give up scores... I'm just hoping they still throw and not hand it to Run DMC all day.

Thanks for help with mine. I swap Blackmon for Shorts if healthy. Blackmon sees the #1 corner each week... it's why Cecil is doing so well. I have Ryan and I'm going with him this week... I think he gets back on track in a shootout with Eli.
