Cobb or Matthews at FLEX? *WHIR*

Postby fescobar » Fri Dec 14, 2012 1:52 pm

In the semi's going up against the #1 seed who has Foster, Doug Martin, AJ Green, and Brandon Marshall, .5 PPR league. My team is legit, scored 3rd most points of any team all year last week! But every move and point will count, so need some help.

News just broke that David Wilson is starting and Bradshaw is out, so he's now my RB2 (Gore is my RB1) we only start 2 WR's and I got Calvin and Cruz...Cobb has been my FLEX play, but Matthews has a great match-up this week.

Need to go high risk high reward to win this week in a few slots, and am leaning on starting Matthews since he's good for 4-5 receptions and has the ability to touch the ball a lot more than Cobb. I know Cobb is the safe play, but think I need to go for the fences on this one:

At TE: I would start Martellus Bennett (did last 2 weeks) but I'm already starting Cruz and David Wilson, don't want 3 playing from same team (all can't ball out at same time) and if the Giants lay an egg I'm screwed. Know Vernon is the risky play, but I think the Niners might be down early or in a shoot-out and he'll get lots of looks.

Thanks! *WHIR*

Below is my roster, followed by my opponents:

QB: Cam Newton
WR: Calvin Johnson
WR: Victor Cruz
RB: Frank Gore
RB: David Wilson
TE: Vernon Davis
FLEX: Ryan Matthews
K: Matt Prater
DEF: Detroit Lions

Bench, only those I've considered starting:
Martelus Bennett
Randall Cobb
San Francisco Defense

Playing against:

QB: Andy Dalton
WR: AJ Green
WR: Brandon Marshall
RB: Arian Foster
RB: Doug Martin
TE: Heath Miller
FLEX: Danario Alexander
K: Matt Bryant
DEF: Cleveland

There is no high reward with Ryan Matthews and he's proven it all season... Go with Cobb in the flex

Matthews is a very talented runner. He has a plus match-up. I don't project any GB receivers to do well this week. Rodgers will struggle a lot, just as he did the week against Giants. Like the Giants, the Bears will be pressuring Rodgers, and the Green Bay WR's will suffer. Chicago doesn't have Urlacher, but they will still get to Rodgers. Week 2 the Bears almost totally shut down the Packers offense. Start Mathews; at least he will have a chance to give you production.

I like your team to win, btw. Good luck, and thank you for your help with mine.

Matthew has a good matchup but I would go with Cobb. Chicago's D will not stop Rodgers. I would also go with Bennett over Davis.

Please look at mine.
