ETHICS QUESTION

Postby JackSnow84 » Mon Dec 17, 2012 6:21 pm

I am the commish in a 12 team league with the finals next week (Week 16). The two finalists want to "trade" with each other; one will be receiving Knowshon and the other team will receive Heath Miller. This trade will help each other with one team's need for a RB and another team's need for a TE. I caught wind of this and explained that our trade deadline ended November 21st and no trades after that. Now, they want to ADD / DROP since they can't trade with each other but that does not seem ethical to me. The few owners that have responded to this concern agree that this should not be allowed; this could set precedent and not be a good thing for the league. Thoughts?? Am I overreacting to this?

not cool, I have no issue adding somebody the other guy dropped. However, planning it and coming to an agreement like this is collusion in my mind

Yep, collusion. Trade deadline passed, they have to deal with it. Too bad for them.

Yes. Trade deadline has passed. You should also have a roster freeze of some sort.

I agree with everyone here. They're obviously just skirting rules with an add/drop approach. This kind of play makes me consider locking rosters upon the start of playoffs. Roster locking also encourages a well rounded bench heading into playoffs, but that's a separate topic.
