Kicker question

Postby doromo » Wed Dec 19, 2012 12:57 am

I've had Giants kicker- Tynes all year and now he is in a super slump as of late... he was one of the best but not anymore.

Should I pick up off of waivers any one of these guys?: They are looking good!

I say Carpenter out of those.

Not because he's better -- in fact he's probably the worst kicker listed -- but I assume you're only worried about Wk. 16 at this point, and the Bills are a much softer opponent to face when needing points than the Texans, Ravens or Steelers.

This is only for this week.

So Carpenter is the best?

Here is a bigger list. I'm leaning on Carpenter having a good game, or do you think the Giants will strike back from the worst game in their history?

Josh Brown, Cin K
Dan Carpenter, Mia K
Blair Walsh, Min K
Graham Gano, Car K
Olindo Mare, Chi K

I would stick with Tynes. This is a must win game for the Giants, even if they don't win they game. It will not be like the game against Atlanta.
Stick with your starter, sometimes changing up because of a bad game ends bad. Just play it through IMO!

Walsh, then Brown, Tynes 3rd on the list IMO

I usually try to play through the tough times....right D Moore....and Bryce Brown....Cruz mid season.....

Out of that new list, my gut says Crosby will have the most opportunity against the Titans, and I'd maybe say Mare against the Cardinals next.

But as another caveat, they're all kickers, so it's all at least partially a roll of the dice at that spot anyway. Kicker A could be worth 15 points for three 50-yard field goals in a 9-6 borefest, while Kicker B could be worth less than half that while his team puts up 49 and only gets him extra points.

Best of luck!
