Not sure espn has a leg to stand on were they to fire Rob Parker. They hired him for his ability to say outlandish things and speaking his mind without focusing his thoughts. They got just what they paid for. publicity.
I think where Parker really missed the point on is not the the person RGIII isn't advancing any social policy, but that we no longer have individuals. Our high profile athletes are now not black or white, latino or asian. They are corporations and as such incapable of making any stand the could threaten their marketability with their most prized demographics.
It frustrates me too. I would rather our athletes' honest opinions even if I don't share them, than listen to the corporation approved rhetoric.
I think, therefore I am. I think fantasy, therefore I am unreal?
