MVP - Adrian Peterson: If you were an owner that drafted AP this year you get a round of applause from me. Coming back a year after an injury of that magnitude and to put up the numbers he did, shouldn’t even be possible. Averaging 17 points a game and 7 of those games putting up 20+ points. Average draft round for ALL DAY was late 2nd to 3rd you can’t find better value than drafting the top running back there. If you get the first pick in your draft next year AP should be your pick and don’t worry about drafting Toby Gerhart as his handcuff.
Rookie of the Year - Robert Giffin III/Alfred Morris: Two rookies in the same backfield that finished in the top 10 in their respective position. RG3 took the fantasy football world by storm when he was putting up 20+ points the first three weeks. He missed a playoff week which might have left a sour taste in your mouth to end the season. The Heisman trophy winner finished his rookie season as a top-5 QB. Alfred Morris out of the small college of Florida Atlantic was an unknown coming into this year. The day before the season opener Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan name Morris the starter and the rest is history. The rookie RB rushed for 1,413 yards with 10 touchdowns. He finished the season strong with a 21 and 16 point game.
MVD - Chicago Bears Defense: A defense that has fantasy football managers rethinking their drafting strategy when it comes to where to draft a defense. A top-5 defense in… weeks and was the #1 overall defense 3 times, including Week 16 which is championship week for most leagues.
Kicker of the Year - Blair Walsh: While everyone was talking about the other rookie place kicker “Legatron”, Blair Walsh quietly kicked his way to a top-3 PK. He missed only 3 field goals all year and was 9 for 9 in attempts of 50+. He was successful on all 32 PAT’s, if the Vikings could have got in the end zone a couple more times Blair would have passed Stephen Gostkowski in points.
