I got an offer for Charles in a PPR dynasty league. I'm not very deep at wr, so I may consider dealing him. He offered Alexander, Antonio Brown, and $20 FAAB. Would anyone do this deal? I may not deal Charles, but if you would and you dont like the deal, who would you counter for? My team: QB Andrew Luck WR Julio Jones WR Justin Blackmon WR Michael Crabtree WR Donnie Avery WR Stephen Hill WR Travis Benjamin WR Kevin Ogletree RB Jamaal Charles RB Daryl Richardson RB Darren Sproles RB Rashad Jennings RB Ben Tate RB Bernard Scott RB Chris Johnson
notable players to trade for on his team:
WR Dez Bryant WR Danario Alexander WR Antonio Brown WR Michael Floyd WR Rueben Randle WR Josh Gordon RB Mark Ingram RB Chris Ivory RB Lamar Miller RB LaMichael James
Charles is your best asset at RB right now. Richardson might grow into a major role and Sproles is solid in a PPR league but Charles is a beast (when he gets the ball). With Reid going to KC, Charles could gain more receiving yards too! The rest of your RB's are iffy at best. Add to that the fact that you are getting unproven WR's... I wouldn't do this deal. I don't know what 20$ 'FAAB' are worth but I doubt they make up the difference.
I wouldnt even consider this deal to be honest, in a deep league like this studs are very important. Every owner is looking to grab a few waiver wire guys that pan out and trade them for a stud, don't be the sucker that falls for it. I love DX but he is known to be constantly injured and he still has Rivers throwing to him, and Antonio is decent enough but doesnt give you more than 10-12 points most weeks because he doesnt score much.
You are right that you arent very deep at WR but you arent very deep at RB either, thats what happens when you are in a 14 team league that starts 3 RB, 3 WR and a flex. Thats pretty much asking guys to come up with 100 Rbs and WRs which is pretty tough to do, let alone have depth behind those guys.
I think I stick with your team. You have Jones as your #1 and two decent #2's with Crabtree and Blackmon. Bth Blackmon and Crabtree really turned it on in the second half of the season after a qb change. I like Alexander, he could be a beast, but can he stay healthy, he never has in his career. So to move Charles for him, Brown and the $20 I think I'd pass. I'm not sure how your money system works, but that $20 would have to be very variable for me to move Charles. Good luck.
