Freeney and Collie gone

Postby scottaa1 » Fri Feb 15, 2013 6:23 pm

Local news (WTHR) just reported Dwight Freeney and Austin Collie will not be re-signed.

Thanks for the memories, Dwight. It has been a pleasure. ;-D

Time to retire my Freeney jersey. :~(

My heart hates both decisions, my brain agrees both are smart business moves. I now have a retired Dawkins, Edge, Marvin, Peyton, Freeney, Addai and Clark jerseys. Still have the Wayne and Mathis ones.....

Murph - I think ya need an all purpose jersey, like one with numbers attached with Velcro so ya can keep changing them.

Didn't they try that in Detroit? Wasn't there a player who discovered that his jersey's name block was kinda thick, and discovered his name had just been stiched over a previous players' (I think a RB) number?

Say it aint so, Dwight!!!!

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported that Freeney will visit the Patriots on Friday. Tom Curran of Comcast SportsNet New England first had the report (Indianapolis Colts fans might want to stop reading now).

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100000 ... d-patriots

I understand the man has to do what he has to do if he still wants to play, but new england? Perish the thought. What's next? Capulets dating Montagues? Hatfields marrying McCoys? Dogs and cats, living together?

Well, at least if they get him it'll be after he's slowed down a bit. I guess one could say we got the best years of his life, and now bellichick gets our sloppy seconds. ;-)
