Please help me decide on this PPR dynasty offer!

Postby CBG » Tue Feb 19, 2013 7:36 am

I give: Foster, Hankerson, 2.11

I get: Morris, Garcon, F. Davis, 2.2

Current roster below. We start 1qb, 2rb, 3wr, 1te, 1 flex at rb/wr/te. Weekly obviously starts in bold, which leaves 1 more flex I'd decide from between Garcon (if I accept this trade) or Ballard, DeAngelo, 1.3 rookie pick, etc.

RG3, Big Ben, Bradford, Cousins
Richardson, Foster, Ballard, DeAngelo, J. Rodgers
Calvin, AJ Green, A. Brown, Hankerson, Hawkins, McCluster
Hernandez, Gates
1.3, 2.8, 2.11, 3.11

Would this be enough for you to move Foster if you owned him in a PPR dynasty league?

I agree with this guy ^^^

Haha JK. I'd pass. I love me some redskins, but its not great value, especially for PPR.

Check mine out?

Davis and Hankerson dont count so essentially its Foster for Morris and Garcon, and to be honest i like the deal for the long term. I hate to lose Foster because right now you have 3 guys that can single handedly win you a week and another one that isnt far from that level, but I also worry about a drop off coming for Foster. Not that hes going to become a horrible RB or retire, but that he could fall out of his elite top-2 status and down into the 5-8 range which is where Morris is at. I just worry that Foster gets too many touches and is extremely TD dependent, if those TDs fall from 17 down to 10 that takes a huge chunk of value away from him.

Also looking at his stats over the past few years its a little worrisome. Over the last 3 years his YPC have gone from 4.9 to 4.4 to 4.1, and this year his receptions dropped from nearly 70 down to 40 (with his average yards per reception dropping from 11.6 last year to 5.4 this year). Meanwhile his touches have been 393 in 2010, 331 in 2011 (13 games) and 391 this year (460 if playoffs included). He has almost 1250 touches over the last 3 years in under 50 games which comes out to around 25 touches per game, eventually that catches up to you.

Its very possible that he will continue to amaze for another few years, but its just as likely in my opinion that he will experience a bit of a drop off. Hes the better option as of right now, but i think hes on his way down while Morris is on his way up. Morris is a system guy which worries me a bit, and RG3 being injured hurts his value, but i think he has the ability to be very good. A core of RG3, Richardson, Morris, Calvin, AJ Green, Hernandez would be one that you can ride for another 5 years or more, which is a very good feeling in a dynasty league.
