Jordy Nelson or Marques Colston - WHIR

Postby T-Lo » Thu Apr 25, 2013 11:57 pm

I get four offensive keepers in my yahoo league.

For sure I'm keeping Stafford, Darren McFadden [I have faith in going back to the old system], and Maurice Jones-Drew.

Among the other options I have for fourth, I narrowed it to Jordy Nelson and Marques Colston. I'm leaning Colston. Is this a no-brainer or can anyone argue for me to take Nelson instead?

From what I've seen, the consensus among the 'experts' puts Colston a few ranks ahead of Jordy. With Jennings gone, the question is how much that will help Jordy's production.

Thanks!

If it's PPR scoring, I'd keep both WR (each are high end WR2's IMO) and pick your posion between MJD & DMC.

MJD coming off of a major injury, and the Jags suck.

DMC is always injured, always dissapoints, and the Raiders are a disaster.

Both RB come with question marks, both WR are "safer" options IMO.

If you happen to start 3 WR, this is an even easier choice IMO.

Top options in the passing game for 2 of the leagues most pass heavy teams, playing with 2 of the games best QB's are more appealing to me than RB's on bad teams IMO.

I like Nelson a hair more than Colston.

I guess I'm biased on this because the Colston/Brees connection won me my league 2 years ago. So that being said I go Colston. He just seems to be the man Brees goes for when he needs it (outside of 3rd down magnet Sproles). How much are Jones and Cobb gonna poach away from Nelson?

I'd have to agree with this thinking as well.

I apologize on not WHIRing, I completely blanked out and forgot I made this thread until now.

I understand your guys' opinions on dumping a RB since it is a PPR league. It is hard to, knowing the upside each have. I like Nelson and he had some huge games, but his nagging foot issue really hurt me the last season when I needed him to pull big. Though the other two certainly hurt me. Even with all their issues I ended up 6th at the end of the season [out of 12].

Now you have me questioning again lol. Dump MJD with less years left in him, who I've had for 4 years now, or DMC who is unreliable despite how many years he has left. Food for thought.

I'll go post in some other question threads to make up for not being around to return the favor.
