Ray Rice

Curious what peoples thoughts on Ray Rice are for this season.

Seems like his stock has fallen a bit, are people expecting him to slow down?

Personally, I still like him better that guys like Martin, Richardson, Spiller, McCoy.

His current ADP according to mocks make it look like he might be a steal towards the end of the first round

In PPR leagues, Rice was the 4th highest scoring RB behind Peterson, Foster, and Martin. Take away martins to monster games and replace them with average games and Rice is 3rd.

Not sure why all the lack of Ray Rice love at the moment.

I still think Ray Rice is a mid 1st rounder for sure but he lost his luster a bit when Pierce showed he could be a starting RB (Averaged close to 5 ypc and like 6 per catch).

It is my belief Rice will still start and get the majority but Pierce will get an increased load making Rice less likely to repeat last years numbers. With Boldin gone teams can also focus more on the run.

I havent fully thought out exactly where I would rank him just yet but I feel he falls right in the same set of players you mentioned as far as potential goes.

I like Ray Rice as much this season as ever. The presence of Pierce is bothersome from a workload standpoint but Ray Rice is an elite back in the NFL and he'll still get his, plus he might be more fresh on the touches he does receive. He's also highly unlikely to bust; obviously injuries are always a possibility but his floor is relatively low, which is something I always look for in my early picks. There's nothing worse than a when a player you drafted in the first three rounds flops.

Still the man on passing downs. I think He gets used less than I'd like now.
