Jimmy Graham or Vincent Jackson??? WHIR

Postby LWCrunner55 » Mon Jun 17, 2013 12:57 am

I'm trying to decide which player to pick between V. Jackson or Graham for the upcoming year. Both players are solid but I'm leaning towards Graham since he has the more stable QB and is the #1 option on a pass happy team. I just thought I'd ask some people for some input. Who would you rather have and why???
QB- M. Ryan, T. Pryor
RB- A. Morris, L. Bell, A. Ellington, C. Ivory, M. James, D. Martin
WR- J. Nelson, A. Brown, J. Boykin, D. Heyward-Bey,
TE- J. Graham, C. Fleener

Alrighty... Well, I need a little info here bud. Mandatory TE? If so, you have to take Graham. He stands to be the clear number one at his position this season with Gronk potentially missing games due to his back surgery. If this is a debate between the two players in a WR/TE position the debate is completely different as Jackson clearly had the better stats last year.

Assuming this league has a mandatory TE, I would be taking Graham hands down. He is the higher round pick (as high as 16th overall to Jackson's mid-30 range) and provides the biggest difference in points per game compared to other TE's out there. Jackson had a solid year but then, so di a lot of receivers. At the end of the day, you are comparing players from two different positions so their stats kinda get thrown out the window in terms of comparison to each other as you are comparing them to the other guys at their position.

This was a pretty rambling answer but I hope it helps.

I'm assuming that this is keeper, and you're trying to decide who to keep between the two.

If that is the case, I'd say Graham hands down - with the caveat that I don't know if there are any keeper penalties, etc. for keeping him.

This year, you're not going to find a better TE than Graham.. You can most definitely draft better WRs than V. Jax.

Take a look at mine?

Yeah what he said, lol. In TE Mandatory it's a no brainer. In WR/TE, I think I might prefer Vincent Jackson. I think he can get 1300 yards and 8-10 TDs there again, I think he's a safer play than Graham.

Yeah sorry everyone. It's a league that starts a TE. I was just debating who to take as my "WR1" with my draft strategy. It's a standard league. My thought is that WR is so deep that I can get Graham and use him as my "WR1" sort of. Then fill out my natural WR positio sworn the likes of Reggie Wayne and other players. I hope this is making sense. We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, and 1 TE. Graham would serve as my top receiver so to speek... Even though he would plug in as my TE. Make sense?

Graham. He could easily match VJ's numbers and there isn't another tight end who you could say that about. There are plenty if solid WRs out there that you could grab late, but tight end is thin.

I would have taken Graham before this Hernandez debacle. Graham is so far ahead at his position, I would take him everytime

Definitely Graham. As already posted, having the top TE is huge, and you can still get solid WRs in the draft. Graham was hurt much of last year. If he can stay healthy with Sean Payton back, he should be a beast and put up WR1 numbers.
