ironman's 2013 Positional Rankings (NOW WITH IDP)

Postby ironman » Thu Jun 27, 2013 4:29 pm

I created a new place to put my rankings.

http://rankingcrap.blogspot.com/

Right now I just have QB, RB, WR, and TE. Eventually I'll be adding K, DEF, DL, LB, and DB.

Great stuff as always, ironman. Definitely look forward to your work. You do good stuff year in and year out and we all appreciate your contribution to the Cafe. ;-D Question for ya. How did the goings on with Aaron Hernandez and the injury issues with Gronk affect your rankings on guys like Brady and Stevan Ridley?

Awesome list there brotha! Do you happen to take PPR into consideration when ranking WR and RBs?
A win next week and all is forgotten.

Just curious...why so high on Martin and then rank Richardson so low?

Just looking for another point of view.

Thanks!

No. My lists do not account for PPR. I've toyed with creating another set of PPR rankings in the past but have never gotten around to it.

Honestly not a whole lot. Basically Brady dropped maybe one spot. He's never struck me of a guy that has to rely on great receivers to thrive. Perhaps things will be different in the red zone but overall I'm not overreacting to what's happened with the Pats offense.

I like Ridley right around 15th at RB. It's hard to say just yet if he'll get more carries near the goal line without Hernandez and possibly Gronk in the game.

It's early and Richardson's leg issues are a slight concern. If he starts camp and shows he's just fine I would expect to see him move up the rankings a bit.

Look at Brady's numbers prior to 2007 (which happens to be the time the Patriots got serious about surrounding him with weapons)...

2001-2006 (seasons in which he was the starter) 3593 yards passing, 24.5 TD, 13 INT per season average

2007-2012 (excluding 2008 when he missed basically the whole season) 4633 yards passing, 37.4 TD, 5 INT per season average

Banking on a top 10 season (let alone top 5) from Tom Terrific when he's throwing to the JV team is a bad bet IMO.

Especially considering the depth at the position.
