First Alexander, Now Floyd.....

Postby Mr.Joshua » Mon Aug 12, 2013 7:23 pm

Malcom Floyd was carted off the practice field with a potentially serious right knee injury Monday.
Beat writer Michael Gehlken witnessed the injury, and said it "does not look good." Floyd was down on the ground for several minutes, and many of his Chargers teammates gathered around him in prayer. It would be a huge loss for the Chargers who have already lost Danario Alexander for the season to a torn right ACL. Robert Meachem and rookie Keenan Allen may be forced into action this season. We should know more about Floyd's knee Monday evening.

A source tells ESPN that Malcom Floyd (knee) won't return until Week 1 at the earliest.
A Monday night MRI brought good news as Floyd avoided a ligament tear. But he's not out of the woods yet as a severe sprain could sideline him for a month or more. It's looking more and more like the Chargers are going to be forced to roll with Vincent Brown, rookie Keenan Allen and slot man Eddie Royal as their top-three wideouts come Week 1. They lost difference-maker Danario Alexander to an ACL tear last week. With a declining Philip Rivers, a leaky offensive line and a lack of weapons, this Chargers' passing game has the potential to be very bad. Aug 13 - 10:52 AM
