Would it be smart with the first pick to take Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers or should I go with the usual Adrian Peterson with the first pick. Draft is sunday so any help or advice would be appreciated.
I'm not sure what you mean by "quarterbacks by the end of the year are the leaders in points accumulated". That's the case in any standard league. Just using points scored in 2012 in ESPN leagues as an example (http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/leaders
)there was only one RB in the top 12 fantasy players going by total points accumulated, the rest were QB's. Peterson being the only RB of course. Do NOT take a QB with the to overall pick, take Peterson, it's the only pick that makes any sense, especially given the depth at QB this year. I don't know if you are in a 10 or 12 team league or if your league gives 4 or 6 points (4 seems to be the most common setup for most standard leagues) for TD passes, but I can tell you I play in 12 teams leagues that award 6 points for TD passes (CBS), and in those leagues you still don't see QB's going in the first round this year. Rodgers and Brees commonly go toward the middle round 2. QB is SO deep I even passed on Rodgers in a recent draft in which I had the 5th pick, he was still there when my pick came around in round 2, but I waited and ended up getting Brady in round 4. There have been years where taking a QB with your #1 pick was somewhat viable, this is NOT one of those years.
