#2 pick in a 12 team league. Help???!! WHIR

Postby TheGhost » Mon Aug 19, 2013 3:57 pm

Standard yahoo scoring except for .5 points per reception. Also, 4 points per passing TD and 6 points for all other TD's.

Is the #2 pick a no brainer?

Arian Foster
Jamal Charles
Doug Martin

Beast Mode?
Spiller?

Who should I take considering the league set up?

Actually I would take LeSean McCoy at #2. he is going to be a beast this year(remember he's a year removed from 20 plus TDs. But if you don't feel that is safe, I would take Martin, Lynch or Foster probably in that order.

I have Foster as my #2 and McCoy as my #3 but rising because im not sure of Fosters back issues. So I agree with taking McCoy as the #2.

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it. However, I am a tad surprised that both responses are so high on McCoy. Most of the mock drafts and ADP lists have him going mid first round. Any other thoughts? Cheers! ;-D

I understand hope and praise for McCoy. But as a number 2 pick absolutely not. He has Bryce Brown behind him and he wasn't a top 15 RB last year. He will def be higher than that but Doug Martin or Spiller or Foster will all have better numbers.

Foster played all 16 games last year, 13 the year before and 16 the year before that. Stop listening to people criticize his health. He'll play and put up better numbers and will see the ball more.

- He was a 20 + TD RB 2 years ago
- Have you seen him in Kelly's Offense yet? He looks great and he will get tons of touches.
- Bryce Brown may not even win the back up job

Also Foster has Ben Tate behind him
Spiller is injury prone and has a quality Fred Jackson behind him.

Martin is probably a better rusher, but McCoy's receptions and receiving yards will put him past Martin

He's not going to get 20 TD's again. Lets be real here. Because of Chip Kelly, you have no idea how good this team really will be, just because he's bring a high tempo offense doesn't mean it will work and be high scoring. Its really hard to predict the type of season we will get out of the Eagles.

McCoy will be a top 10 RB for sure. To take him at 2 is ridiculous to me with the other RBs that will easily score more points than him.

I wouldn't go McCoy (I have him ranked at number 5 in standard scoring), I would go Charles. He will be a beast for the following three reasons:
- Improved offensive line (Fisher at RT and Albert at LT)
- New coach who will run and pass out of the backfield a ton. Romeo Crennel forgot he had Jamaal Charles on the roster last year. (He had less than 8 carries in at least one game)
- An actual NFL QB will be back there throwing the ball. This keeps defenses honest to not stack the box, and Smiths style is a dink and dunk attack, Charles will catch a lot.

Heres my running back ranks in a standard scoring league:

1 Peterson (was Foster, but I don't like the back issue)
T2 Foster
T2 Charles
4 Lynch
T5 Rice
T5 McCoy
7 Richardson
8 Spiller
9 Morris
10 Martin (Just don't trust him, his 2 HUGE games are ridiculous and won't happen every year)

Help me out too?

The Eagles will score a ton of points. Their problem is they will give up a ton too. Which bodes well for Eagles offensive players fantasy-wise.

who will run?????????????

You mean Andy "shot gun formation on 3rd and 1" Reid?
You mean Andy "3rd and short is a passing down" Reid?

I guess you have never seen Andy Reid coach. I have, and one of his biggest criticisms is he never ran the ball. Charles could be a beast in PPR leagues, I agree. Westbrook had a few great years in Reid's systems because he caught so many balls. The player I expect most to benefit from the fat Man is Bowe.
