Its usually pretty dead in here, not a lot of members participate in IDP leagues yet or they don't feel qualified to answer questions about it. I'm still getting the hang of IDP, theres a lot of factors that come into play and I'm still trying to figure it out myself.

After playing IDP for five years now I find it tough to play in D/ST leagues now. Feel the same about auction leagues too.

I agree. I'm in 1 IDP and 1 D/ST

the D/ST seems very simplified - no PPR, goofy 5 pt bonuses, etc

That said, I do like the different styles of league. I always try to schedule my IDP league for a week or so before the D/ST draft. Now I feel really prepared for the D/ST draft - relaxed even. I have a real draft under my belt to know where a lot of my sleepers/value picks are, and solidified strategies for various spots in the draft (e.g 1-3, 4-8, 9-12)

I'm trying to get into IDP myself. Anyone got any money leagues open?

I actually think IDP will eventual replace the cookie-cutter standard league format.

I certainly hope so. It adds a whole new element to the game, leagues using team defenses just aren't the same. A lot of people still haven't dabbled in it, but thats no excuse to avoid it. We were all beginners in the format at one point, the longer you wait to try it the farther behind you'll be.

I compare it to playing fantasy baseball without the pitching. Unthinkable right? Most people that play fantasy football just don't know any better since they're used to playing in a poor format. If you can get them to try an IDP league that is setup properly the vast majority of those players won't go back to standard leagues. The key is finding the correct settings and fine tuning them. I think I did that last season with my league and won over the IDP skeptics. They actually began bugging me in June to hurry up and renew the league. This season I took what worked from last year and expanded upon it. I now have 8 IDP leagues each with 20 players. I only have 2-3 spots left to fill before this weekend drafts.
